Hi all, just discovered this forum. I'm looking to relocate to this area, and interested in finding a nice big water lot to build on. Any info or leads would be great. Thanks.

The further west you go, the better luck you'll have in finding open space. Most of the Irmo/Chapin section of the lake is developed.

Zillow is a good resource, as well as any realtor website with an MLS search. I don't know what your budget is like, but here is an example of a lot on the western side.

467 Wood Willow Pt LOT 4, Chapin, SC 29036 is For Sale - Zillow

Ultimately though, I would suggest hooking up with a realtor in the area and having them help. My husband and I just moved to the area and our realtor was a TON of help in showing us around, helping us figure out where we want to be and ultimately suggested that we look at the home we ended up buying.

Which side? There are homes on the Cayce side, in between Gervais and Blossom. On the Columbia side, it is mostly apartments, and because of the canal, most development would not have direct access to the actual Riverwalk.

Canal Place, in Earlewood, has lots that front the Canal/River, but there is no bridge with direct access from the neighborhood to the actual Riverwalk.

I'm familiar with canal place. It just seems weird to not build by the river and have walking distance to the river walk. The only perfect place that is way too pricey seems to be the city club condos by gervais. Cayce side the houses are too expensive too but big. I wonder if you could get a decent sized house for around $300k if they built it instead of giant mansions.

In rock hill they have just that! Riverwalkcarolinas
