Female medical question?! (Columbia: university, live, clinics)

HEY! I am sooo new to this... and this state.
My husband and I are ready to start trying to kids and I am needing to see an OB/GYN first so I can get my menses regulated (not from weight they never have been normal)
I am a large woman, and I know that is not a reason why I cannot have a child, but I am afraid of what a 'fat-phobic' dr will have to say. ANYWAYS... I was just wondering if anyone out there knows of a DR that will understand and not have any problems with me?
I know this is probably an odd request! But I thought maybe someone around here might be willing to help me.

You might want to try Dr. Janice Bacon (or one of the other doctors) at the University Specialty Clinics. However, you may have to have a referral as they are specialists. Good luck!

I apologize that this response is so late but I was just browsing the forums and saw this posting. I have lived in Columbia for about two years myself and I needed the same help at one time so I thought I would respond. I am currently pregnant with my first child. I was referred to the South Carolina OB/GYN practice in downtown on Taylor St by a co-worker. I have since found out that another co-worker went with them that now has a eight month-old baby and she too was very pleased. They have been wonderful so far! I am very pleased with them. I would highly recommend them. I have seen all different types of women come into the practice and so I do not foresee them judging you at all!
