Wow, Columbus isn't even on the "rumored" list... that sucks. At this rate and when you take into consideration the fact that the rumors of Costco building here began in 2010, if it really will be another 3-5 years before Costco even starts pondering whether to put a location here, then we will have ended up waiting at least 1-1.5 decades for one since the rumors began.

I don't think it works like that. I pretty sure they don't have the same criteria for location. If that was the case, Whole Foods would be in several other cities. All of the 2nd tier Georgia cities have Fresh Markets. Only 2 have Whole Foods.

Store location criteria, basically the reason some cities don't get certain stores. Some retailers have lower standards, others are higher.

Due to the fact that they recently began contract negotiations to build one here.
Columbus is the second largest city in Georgia and Im sure it will only get bigger. Especiallyl wiht all of the expansion and development recently that is planned.

As I said , the list is a list of stores opening soon, uncertain opening dates, and rumored stores. This thread was started on a rumor in 2012, yet Costco is apparently still looking...interesting. Since the main rumor on this thread was incorrect(Costco looking for a site), then how is this thread any more credible than the list? If anything, it has the same credibility as this thread, which seems to have not been from a reliable source.
