I have been watching the movement of tropical storm Issac. Will it have much impact on Columbus? Moving to Columbus in approx. a week.

More than likely just rain. Depends on how big it is when it hits the panhandle.

Nope never had too. You might see a lot of people from the coast come this way to get hotels and things.

We had a twister hit North Columbus in 2007. Nearly took out all the suburb areas.

I wouldn't say that the tornado of 07 took out nearly out of the suburbs. Far from it.

I was working at the TJ Maxx when the tornado struck. The store hadn't opened yet so thankfully there were no customers. We were putting up fixtures and such. Everyone huddled in the fitting room. One girl was crying. I didn't really care. The store was untouched. Meanwhile less than a mile away the Eckerds (now Rite Aid) was destroyed. Veterans Parkway looked like a warzone. That's the thing about tornados they kinda pick and choose who they want to hit. I lived near Peachtree Mall at the time and my apartment was fine the lights didn't even blink. I went to work the next day and never realized how bad things were right around the corner until someone told me.

Obviously Issac is New Orleans' problem now. I do remember it being really windy when Katrina hit. Really and truly Columbus is too far inland to really be effected by hurricanes. However a few have still had considerable strength when they got to Columbus. The most memorable was Opal in 1995. Thousands were without power. Awful storm. I was fortunate the lights only blinked and school was out for two days. Awesome. I actually felt kinda left out when we returned to school and I had no hurricane survivor story. No tree on my house. No power outages. Darn it where's my good story.

It's hurricane season we all have to be aware of the weather. I'm in the DC area and we still had to deal with hurricane Irene last year the same week we had an earthquake. I'll take a hurricane over an earthquake any day of the week.

No one inland evacuates for a hurricane. Ever.
