I also enjoy volunteering, but haven't taken the time yet to try to find opportunities yet. I just did a quick Google search and found this:

Columbus Volunteer Opportunities

VolunteerMatch - Organizations in the Columbus, GA-AL Metro Area

And here is United Way's page:

Default May be moving to Columbus GA in December

Hi Everyone,

I am a single thirtysomething female who might be moving to Columbus GA. I am looking for a safe apartment. The cost of the apartment is not a major issue, safety is. Also, are there apartments with W/D in the units? I have already been researching and most of the apartments have connections only. As far as I see, the GreyStone apartments seem to be good. They however only have W/D connections.

Any suggestions?

Also, I started to use a trainer for weight training. Do you know of any reputable gyms with a number of trainers to choose from? I would prefer to train with a female.

Finally, I might be getting a pet from the local shelter when/if I move to Columbus. Do you know of any doggy Daycares? Somewhere to keep the puppy while I am at work.

Ok....that is it for now.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Check out The Crossings at Veterans Parkway. They have units with w/d. Relatively new, about one year, I think, and seem very safe.

For dog day care, check out Playful Pups on Airport Thruway and Preppy Pet Suites on Manchester Expressway. We've used both and are very pleased.

Tom

Veteran's Parkway will be your safest bet. Be careful if you decide to go below exit 10, there are a lot of sketchy areas. Any of the Greystone apartments are pretty nice, but as you said, I do not know of any with W/D already inside.

I live in Greystone Maple Ridge, but you're right, they have washer/dryer connections. There are some new apartments being built in Midland (essentially Columbus), called Lakeside Village - and they're starting to rent now. They're new luxury apartments. You could call them to see if they might have some equipped with washer/dryers.
