I made a post that i want to relocated from WNY to ether PA or OH but on a budget and this is what i was looking for

2BR
Lower or 1fl apt " because we both disabled "
Rent $300 to $400
Near Supermarket and Bank
Depend of what city i would consider from Transportation to Crime

That's extremely low; you may find a few apartments in small towns or out in the country for that price, but anywhere in a city with access to public transportation, forget it, unless the neighborhood is very, very bad.

Columbus is an extremely cheap place to live compared with most large cities. Even so, you won't find much with that budget unless you want to live somewhere with a corpse hidden under your floorboards.

^ agreed. $300 wont get you much. ive been in a cramped 2 br 2 ba apartment in an okay neighborhood for $750/mo. in terms of access to grocery stores, ect. you wont have to worry about that. almost every house is within 1/2 mile of a grocery store.

I'm originally from Buffalo, can fully appreciate your desire to want to leave WNY. I am an older person nearing retirement so the state of the local schools and the availability of good paying jobs are not key issues to me. Affordable housing, good medical facilities, walkable neighborhoods, low crime rates, low property taxes and well run city government, good shopping and fun things to do are key issues to me. I live in Springfield, 30-45 minutes west of Columbus, and for what you are looking to spend in your post, you can afford to own a small 2 bedroom house here.

actually this is wrong. I had a friend that had an apartment for 375/month in the short north, on high st. There are apartments (very hard finds) in the nicer urban neighborhoods for this price. Also, if they were to find a roomate they could easily find a two bedroom. In addition there are many "rooming houses" and "rooms for rent" in neighborhoods all over the city, as well as the dense university district near OSU. Many are in the 300 range.

I think the above options exist but it would help to increase the budget to 350-375/month. Also it would take a person with a real knowledge of the area to find a steal/bargain in a decent area. Most out of townies would end up in a rougher area for lower rent. But do not give up. There are options.
