I can buy re manufactured cartridges for my HP for $11.50 each but wondering are there places where I can bring my cartridges and refill for $8 or less?

I have gone through numerous ink jet printers over the years. Got one collecting dust in a closet right now. However, I have two color laser printers and don't have this problem. If one is printing a lot of stuff the cost of the ink cartridges can be prohibitive. It really is a racket. Some people merely buy a new printer and donate the old one to charity and take a write-off.

Bottom line: Ink jet printers are a rip-off. The manufacturers get the customer to buy the printer and then bleed them dry with the cartridge replacements. Ever wonder why the blades on razors are so expensive? That's another rip-off. I went back to my old Trac II where I can change blades once a week for pennies.

We have had great results with Costco at $7 to fill $50 cartridges. If it fails they will give your money back.

I have a Samsung CLP 315 I purchased at Office Depot about three or four years ago. I don't know exactly the deal but it was marked at like $79 so I scooped it up. I also have an Okidata color laser that I haven't used in a while but it worked fine at the time I put it away. I think I paid about $225 for that one on sale. I've never had to replace cartridges in either one. Of course I don't do a great deal of printing but they do a fine job, when I need them.

$7/refill for any of the ink cartridges above would certainly make the cost of running the printers cheaper.

As I said, it depends on the number of copies needing printing. I've never used the first toner cartridge up. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I can probably get it cheaper if and when I need one; possibly on ebay. For example.

Do you know if anyone besides Costco is doing this? Sam's club or Walmart maybe??

The Ebay optics are discussed in the other thread I linked to. Ink cartridges are cheaper on Ebay a well negating any cost benefit.

I bought generic ink refill kits from Staples that work well in Canon. I don't know if they sell a HP-specific ink or not. HP, many of them, has all 4 ports (colors) in one cartridge. Just Google to find out what color goes where.
