I don't know why but that message always seemed very dirty to me. Especially the parts about "spreading around" and "before giving it xxxx again".
I always wanted to say "Please, once is enough! Don't you be giving it to me again!".
....or am I the only one?

Question, will this leave the OS inrtact?
I would like to wipe my laptiop and give it to my granddaughter for games with no internet. We are buying new laptop.
Nope. This will delete everything, OS included. You'll have to reinstall Windows from scratch. Now, DBAN is something that you would use if you're giving the computer away and don't know if the receiving person will attempt to recover the data. If the laptop will stay in your family and you don't expect your granddaughter to try to recover deleted files and break into your bank account, then you should fine just deleting the files and emptying the trashcan.
