I'm a dummy when it comes to OS-X, can someone tell me why the strings command no longer works or how to get it to work?
This is what I get when I try to use it:
PLWmac:~ root# strings drive.mp3
xcode-select: error: no developer tools were found at '/Applications/Xcode.app', and no install could be requested (perhaps no UI is present), please install manually from 'developer.apple.com'.
If I need to download some developer tools which should I get?
Thanks, but I'm quite satisfied with the OS-X expertise here...
As you can see I had a solution within one hour of opening this thread.
Didn't mean anything against the help you received here; just wanted to let you know about MacRumors, and all the various Apple forums. It is a great place for help/assistance on Mac's, Macbooks, iPads, iPhones, etc.
I just bought the last "Brand-new condition" 2012 Mac Mini, off of Amazon for $594. But it now has Mavericks not Mtn Lion on it. Many say Mtn Lion is better? So, when I get it next wk, should I go backward?
I paid $10 more from Amazon too (& from the "Data Vision Company" @ $594 total on Amazon) then had I gotten it -- from this same "Data Vision Company's" marketplace store -- which is also selling on BestBuy's website (where w/ Mtn Lion is still on it as the OS, but yet it is only $584.99)?
Is it best to keep Mavericks or was Mtn Lion much better? Thx.
