I am in need of a small 11-12" lightweight laptop that I can carry around all day. Two I have looked at are the HP Stream 11 Non-Touch and the Acer C720P Chromebook Touchscreen. The Stream costs $200 and the C720P costs $280.

Acer 11.6" TouchScreen Chromebook Intel Celeron 2GB Memory 32GB Solid State Drive White C720P-2661 - Best Buy

It's Windows versus Chrome OS. Read to see which fits you best: Chromebooks vs. Windows Laptops: What Should You Buy?

If you like the Acer and its faster CPU, you can get it on Amazon for $220: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-11-6-Chro.../dp/B00JLPJJG6

I have an Asus that was under $200, and it works fine with no problems other than having Windows 8.1 which is a big pain to deal with. I thought I'd get used to it but wish I had bought while windows 7 was still available, or gone for a Chromebook. The touch screen is not really needed on a laptop/notebook as much as on a tablet.

I've been playing with the Win10 preview build 10074. I like it better than Win8's free consumer preview. Easier to find your way around if you have only used Windows versions prior to 8.whatever. It's supposed to be a free upgrade to users of Window 7 and Windows 8.whatever. Sou I would not let Windows 8.whatever be a deal breaker. When I tried the Win8 preview, I installed free Classic Shell program that gave me a start menu and options to set menus like any of Win XP, Vista, or 7. Classic Shell tamed Win8 and improved my productivity greatly.

Last I read, the official release version of Windows 10 should be available in late July of this year.
