I'm fed up with Firefox. Every new version seems buggier than the last one, the memory leakage is so bad that I have to reboot it several times a day, and youtube videos and vimeo are almost non functional. I have all the right add ons and extensions but want something better, and do not like Chrome or IE.
Opera is sorta OK, but I want something similar to Firefox that actually works. Even Pale Moon seemed pretty buggy, but I may go back to that if I have to. Having flash block and ad block capabilities are absolutely necessary. Any ideas? Guess there isn't much left out there. Remember the old days when you would work and work and get your browser just the way you wanted it, then they would update it to a totally different setup and nothing you had worked the same way? That's how I've felt about Firefox for the last few years.
Looks like Edge doesn't allow ad block or flash block, so that won't work. I just downloaded Pale Moon and it's fast and works like the old Firefox, except I can't get Flash Block to work. Or rather, it works too good. It just pulls up a black screen on youtube videos and they won't play unless I disable it. Will try to sort this out.
"Replaces Flash objects with a button you can click to view them. Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content."
One thing to keep in mind, not all these extensions and add-ons play nice with each other or the browser itself. Try to get along with as few as possible.

With Chrome and Edge, that's a built-in feature...

Have you tried creating a new profile in firefox? Issues like this may stem from having a bloated profile folder going back multiple versions of the browser. I'm presuming you've done your best to eradicate third party mods, toolbars, bloatware and adware that install themselves stealthily, activate on bootup, and affect your browser directly.
Another problem with Flashblock is that the current version, 1.5.19, is broken. You need to install 1.5.18 and disable updates. We are waiting for a fix from the developer.
