Yes. I have multiple codes and spent a great amount of time researching it. They are pushing us to buy the new version. I installed Libre - so so, but it works.
I still feel like I should be able to hack the registry to make it work. Frustrating.

Just curious - did the key code issue actually prevent the installation or was the hang-up in activation? I'm assuming you got an error message....do you remember what it said?
Activation. I seem to recall that the activation failed no matter what code i used so i did some searching and discovered the "MS no longer supports this product so you're SOL."

Note the tip in post #2. Looks like a few people got it to work using that phone number. Worth a try?
Good luck.
Notice the date of that post?
I remember one poster stating that MS told him over the phone that they did not activate 2003 any more. He told them he had legacy software that doesn't work with the new Office versions and that his business depended on it. It worked.
I thought about that, but at the time i was so frustrated with that and some screwty problems I ran into with windows 10 that I just gave up.
I should try again. It's only time and frustration.
And thanks. There's a MS toolkit that is supposed to take care of it, but Norton won't allow it to download. It deletes it.

Yes, I did notice the date. But it was reported to be still working as of 7/31/15 - not all that long ago. I'd sure give it a try if I had your problem.
The games MS has been playing with activation and WGA for the last 15 years infuriate me, so I'd gladly invest whatever time it takes to not let them win. I can't imagine what their legal standing would be for refusing to activate software with a legitimate product key, so I'd even look into taking legal action. That's just me.
Agree Coalman. I refuse to believe 2003 won't work. Half tempted to try it on my PC.
