Windows key +1, just brings up EDGE. I have been through all the Apps, and there isn't one in there.

Windows Key + i (letter) but if you have checked the SETTINGS > APPS and it is not there then it should be listed somewhere in the "Programs and Features" > "Turn Windows Features on or off" list on the left but try the registry hack following the hint I mentioned in my last post.

Whether it is a Windows widget or an app or an installed program, there has to be a startup entry for it or a way, within the app itself, to disable it.
Also, if you have CCleaner, check the "Startup" under Tools section for a related entry.

What is this recent trend of using the term "delete" to mean anything other than the erasure of digitally or magnetically recorded information.

At best, OP may only be able to disable it, deactivate it or suppress it's user-visible activity.

If you wish to delete copilot, that will be a matter of locating the program's binary file (assuming there's only one), where ever that resides in Windows and deleting that binary file. This also assumes that Microsoft won't have taken measures to obfuscate the filepath or binary name in any way or have in place any measure to prevent users from simply deleting what might be considered core components of the operating system.

Oh, and also depending on how heavily integrated it now is with existing other Windows components, the outright erasure of copilot's binaries might also cause breakage.

This is not a recent trend. Oy vey. Some people don't know that right words to use, you don't need to shame them.

What is with the not so recent trend of you just being this high and mighty electronic warrior out to ...not actually help anyone but ... to show us how superior you are to us all?

Just for fun when this PITA popped up. it gave an Ask Me option. So I did.
I asked how to get rid of copilot.
The developer must have been ready for this one
It immediately responded with.......

[i]"Copilot
