Whats the deal with my mouse?

What happens alot is when I click my mouse, it will seem like it double clicks. Very annoying.

I will look at an email from outlook, click one to exit an email and outllok will closeout completely.

Any ideas?

Steve

Probably a bad mouse. Is it wired or wireless?

I get that sometimes on the "back" button on my wireless.

It CAN be interference, or just a dirty contact that registers two clicks every so often instead of one.

Have you tried another mouse? you can usually borrow a generic one from work to see if it is some tort of software/driver problem (a system hiccough that makes it not see the button click as one continuous input...)

Have you checked the properties?

In Control Panel open Mouse and look in the Buttons tab.

Where is the slider set for double-click speed? You might want to slow it down some.

Slam the mouse down hard a couple of times, and threaten to toss it in the wastebasket. It'll mysteriously start working again.
