I am currently living in the Atlanta area and looking at a possible relocation to the Norwalk/Westport area. Currently our daycare expense for my 2 year old is at $175/week at a daycare center. I was curious as to the average expense in that area.

I would say it will likely cost you a bit more here. I would say if you could find full-time childcare for a 2 year old for $200 a week that would be a good deal, a few at home daycares may be a bit cheaper then that. But I would count on spending at least $25 more a week here...

Thats why I said finding 200 a week would be a good deal...meaning its generally more then that.
Centers are more expensive, while home daycares can be cheaper...but it depends what you are looking for.

200 a week would be a great deal up there. When we looked the only thing around 200 were quite iffy and none were accredited.

So is $225 attainable for a good daycare center in Norwalk?

It's possible, but not likely.

We were looking into this recently, and the cheapest we saw was about $65/day, for in-home day care. It can easily run on average $120-140/day, depending on the 'teacher/student' ratio (varies based on age). For a 2+ yr old, I would budget at least $300-350/week. This was in Fairfield primarily, but I can't imagine Westport is going to be cheaper. Norwalk you might have more luck. No matter what, make sure to do some thorough research including talking to families whose kids are currently there. There are a ton of unaccredited and unmonitored places.
