I third River's Bend. It's a quiet community and I believe they have a gym and a pool area. It's directly off the highway with Price Chopper and Buffalo Wild Wings being across the street.

Hmmm.......Rivers Bend doesn't seem to have positive reviews here....

I'm tossing through some other ideas as well, expanding my community list. Obviously I'd like to be close to work, but also interested in getting closer to the casinos as well (love to play poker)

So looking at expanding into:

Ellington
Vernon
Bolton
Tolland
Coventry
Glastonbury

I'm thinking the happy-medium here will be Manchester/Glastonbury in the end, but open to suggestions.

Remember that people that post comments on websites are likely to be doing so because they are carrying a grudge rather than being objective. For every bad comment, there are probably hundreds of people who like living there. I know over the years we have had a few people post positive things about Rivers Bend here.

As for expanding your area, it may be good. I do not think Bolton, coventry and Tolland have many rentals and note that Glastonbury will be more expensive. The Mansions in Vernon seems to get a lot of positive posts here too. Good luck, Jay

I love that it includes washer/dryer in the unit. The grounds look beautiful, and maybe I can snag a unit with a garage

Ellington is a nice town but parts can be rural and getting there is not the easiest. Still they do look like nice apartments for the price. Jay

We found a private owner-occupied residence in Broad Brook (part of E. Windsor) that is in a beautiful country setting, nice and quiet, closer to my work and a nice arrangement (i.e. not living with people above, below and to each side of us in some monster complex)

We move in October, can't wait!
