I may be way misremembering, but wasn't that Sears? That entrance overhang looks very familiar. I remember saving up and buying my first stereo radio/record player/8-track (!) combination in the late 70s, and I'm pretty sure it was there, or somewhere in Manchester.

This appears to be part of "the lower" Parkade. When my family moved to Manchester in 1964, only the upper part existed. The stores included Sears, D&L, Reed's Stationary, Shady Glen, W.T. Grants, Youth Centre, S.O.M.B.(Jewelers), Munson's, a laundromat, Liggetts Drug Store, Harvest Hill Package store, Grand Union and Grand Way. After Grand Union and Grand Way went out of business, Treasure City moved in. Not sure when Radio Shack opened there as well. There was a Swiss Colony store for a while as well as the Parkade Bakery. The lower part of the Parkade was all woods (on the other side of Green Manor Blvd.) This is where the tower for WINF was located. I think King's was the first store that was put in the new strip. Then there was Anderson Little, Simmon's Shoes, Card Gallery, Hobby Tyme, So Fro Fabrics, Adam's Apple. The "mini mall" was originally Butterfield's, a large and pricey store. It didn't last long. King's was changed to Bradlees and Stop and Shop was added to the end. Butterfields was reopened with Marshalls, CVS, and several kiosk businesses. I'm sure I have forgotten some businesses. Oh, David's was originally called Stanley Greens.
