or look at the crime stats. it is up there, but no where near the top 20 murder rates of Hartford. remember when the DEA, FBI, ATF and state police had to help out the Hartford cops in the late 90's

Bpt, NH and Hartford all swap "top spots".

New Haven and Hartford on in a dead heat last I checked this there with I think 22 murders. I'm betting gun wavin New Haven will pull it out this year.

Hartford had 45 in 2003.

This really puts into perspective the fact that - while bad - violence in cities is so much better now than it was.

Here's stats for New York State. Look at both the population drop and the amount of murders from the late 70's to the early 90's. My family originates from the direct NYC area, and I remember as a kid how scary Manhattan was in the late 80's and early 90's.

New York Crime Rates 1960 - 2009

I wonder what NYC's murder rate was in 1990. The state is as high as New Haven's is today in some of those years.

Also Bridgeport is warzone It get dangerous especially at night it be like 100 cops car in my neighborhood But most of time they don't report it or no media attention
