Hi everybody

I'm living in TO, CA and have 2 girls (one 7 and the other is 10). We will move to CT to work Alex pharmceutical Co. in Cheshire. Please, I want advises about the best city to live in with this very important criterias (high safty rate (most important) , family-friendly town, with good schools, and new appartment complex with AC and covered parking). We are looking for a suburban feel, with quick access to shopping, fine dining & entertainment,.

thank you

Sounds like you should live right in Cheshire as it is the town you are describing. I'm not sure if they have any apartments, though, or what they are like.

I agree that Cheshire is a good town but the OP should understand that there are not a lot of apartments there. Connecticut does not really have a lot of large scale apartment complexes like you find out west. We do not have a lot of land and most of it is zoned for single family homes particularly in upscale suburbs. You might want to consider renting a condo or house instead. Jay

Cheshire, Bethany, North Haven, Woodbridge, Orange, Wallingford, Milford, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield. All good choices. Not many apartments, but you should be able to rent a townhouse/condo or even a house. Milford and Wallingford will have some apartments.

A lot depends on how much of a commute you're willing to do.

Can you scout out locations before you move? That would be a good idea as many of these towns have a different character to offer.

Can you share more info, ie what is your budget? How long of a commute are you hoping for? There aren't many unsafe communities in Connecticut, at least not in the suburbs, so rest assured on that front.

The closer to the coast, the better the roads as it's a bit warmer in the winter and the elevation is lower.

As far as availability for the most condos in towns with good schools, you're looking at the more populated places: Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, North Haven, Wallingford, Milford.

All of the aforementioned towns are safe. There aren't really bad areas in them.

Take a look at Realtor.com to find rentals.

My budget for rent is about $ 2500 and we need central AC in the unit, commute depends on safety, school rate, and road status during snowing
