I had comcast and switched to Uverse thinking I would save money. I did save money for the first 6 months, then the deals ran out. I pay more than I did with Comcast and my internet is much slower.

I am NEVER able to get an HD stream on nextflix with Uverse and I have the 6.0 mbps "Elite" package. I have to work from home quite often though a web portal VPN and it lags like crazy.

Uverse OnDemand has the WORST choices i have ever seen. They don't have any decent free movies that I have seen and they have zero network shows on it. The boxes are slow. When I hit the guide button it sometimes takes 30+ seconds for the guide to come up. Most times i have to hit the button multiple times before it responds for both the guide and recorded shows.

The ONLY advantage Uverse has so far is the total home DVR where you can watch your DVR in any room.

As soon as i get a chance im switching back to Comcast. As bad a rap as comcast gets, I've never had a problem with them and the service in my area (New Britain) is decent.

Have NEVER had that problem. Sounds like your connection is slow.

i've had delays bringing up the menu as well but not as long as 30 seconds and it's usually the first time after turning on the TV/not using it for a while.

so true. Comcast had tons of tv shows and free movies and also had the Hallmark Channel which UVerse took out of their lineup because of some contractual thing. that was over a year ago and i still haven't seen HC return.
i still like the convenience of having phone, internet and cable with the same provider. would be too much of a hassle/too expensive to totally convert over to Xfinity at this point.
