My extended family and I are planning on going to a beach this weekend to take pictures of all the kids in our family together. We had a beach or two in mind, however, I know that it's a holiday weekend for some and it will be beautiful weather this weekend.

Any suggestions on beaches that wont be packed? Something a bit more secluded...It could be rocky or sandy, doesn't matter as long as its quieter.
As we obviously want pictures of the kids without other people in them, you know?

If you think they will all be busy which obviously is possible, any other suggestions for locations? As we'd consider other places too.

It's October. No beaches will be packed.

Sherwood Island, Silver Sands (with boardwalk), Hamonasset, or Rocky Neck in CT. Watch Hill or Misquamicut in RI. There are other good beaches in LI and Cape Cod, but that's gonna be a haul.

I'm not sure about other CT beaches this time of season, but right now Silver Sands is always free to park.

Although they are predicting summer-like weather tomorrow, I can't imagine any beach around here being packed in October, especiallly in CT (not meant as a knock, lots of great Sound beaches, but it's not the ocean.....).

Compo Beach in Westport is open to all this time of year. The Jetty is very picturesque and a common site for wedding pictures, family photos, etc.

Compo is real nice if you can't go any further east (they get better in that direction IMO).

The problem right now is that the beaches are suffering from ugly after Irene. Lots of stuff washed up, beach erosion, all vegetation at/near sea level is dead/brown from the salt water. But if you can look past that, it's still a nice time of year to go.
