HI All,

I remember 2 years ago we were driving around near the milford/orange border, and saw a Christmas Tree farm where you can cut your own trees. I cannot find them on the internet now, and was wondering if anyone out there on the interwebs can help me find that farm? We have a 2 year old, who we would like to take with us, but am afraid the drive out to shelton to Jones Family Christmas Tree farm might run into his nap time. Thanks!.

I think you probably saw Treat Farm at 361 Old Tavern Rd. in Orange. I think the farm is in both Milford and Orange.

There is also Lou's Christmas Trees on New England Lane in Orange.

There may be others but those are the only two, cut your own tree, off the top of my head. I've been to the first- very nice outing.

I think that the specific one that you're looking for, Maple Farms on Wheelers Farm Rd., is out of business.

If you can forgo the cutting, this place has really nice trees (the one I had last year never dropped its needles until I retired it in late-Jan):

Robert Treat Farm. Authentic Family Farm Market and Garden Center. Milford Connecticut

It's really only about 15 minutes from Milford.

We drove up from Stratford with our 20 month old after her nap and got there around 4 or so (they want you to be there by 430 I think it is to finish by 530?) I think it took around 20 minutes for us.

The thing about Jones Tree farm though, if you arrive midday/early afternoon there can sometimes be a long wait just to get into the farm. It's not always bad, but one year we got tired of waiting and turned around and went to another farm. We go early in the morning, but it might not too bad if you are like Lintu and go at the end of the day, too. You could also take the back roads (walnut tree hill rd.) from Rt. 8 that might have less traffic, although there is another tree farm on the same road so I'm not sure about that.
