I am a former resident of Connecticut with a degree from UConn, and I found this NYTimes article informative. Did others know how much Foxwoods is underwater in its loans?

how much tax revenue does CT collect from Foxwoods?

'which state reaps the most revenue from its casinos. It is Pennsylvania, which in 2010 collected $1.3 billion from slots and table-game revenues. The state had just 10 casinos, but Rendell negotiated an agreement that requires them to turn over 55 percent of the hold from their slots to the state — an advantageous deal for the public and one that showed other states what casino owners will tolerate to gain entry into a market'

Mohegan is definitely the more appealing casino to most.

Btw, the Foxwoods billboards are terrible. They should fire their ad agency.

I like the new(ish) MGM Grand Hotel and Casino there. Foxwoods itself feels like a bus terminal to me, however. I much perfer Mohegan Sun. Although now I am in Vegas about one week every ten, so the appeal of the casinos here is minimal...

I'll continue to fly out to Vegas and stay at the Trump for $100/night instead of paying $500/night at Foxwoods. More importantly, I also get to enjoy In-N-Out and Carls' Jr. in the middle of the night.

Exactly, maybe if they lower the rooms on the weekends they would get more people to come up there...

About $250 million/yr. (that's from Foxwoods and Mohegan)

Here in MN our 17 Indian Casinos are required to pay the state a whopping $0.00.

NY and Cuomo are likely to pass an amendment allowing several casinos, and of course, Ma is on their way. With the reduced traffic, its unlikely both Ct casinos can survive without significantly reducing everything about them.

We're headed for an era with state only regional casinos, w/o much traffic from other states.
Perhaps this turnaround artist can help Foxwoods outperform its fate w/o him.

Highly doubtful. He has been on the job for nearly a year and a half, and all they have to show for it is a new ad campaign.
