Glad that there will only be 200 of them. My retinas wouldn't be able to tolerate a sea of orange M3's on the parkway in the morning.

It is curious that they chose orange though.

I would have thought lime green......

Wish they would continue to make the M3 Sedan.

They are, where did you hear they weren't?

They are stopping production of the E90 M3, but the new generation will be both sedan and coupe.

No more awesome high-revving V8 though.

Eh.

IIRC, there will be a new 1-series in '14, which will probably be closer to the spirit of what a 3-series used to be before they blimped up.

I thought that too, then I drove one. The current M3 is pretty damn good. Feels MUCH lighter than it is, great driver inputs, and kills on the track for a car that comfortable.

If you've ever driven an S5, you'll appreciate the M3 even more. It's like the difference between a Cadillac and a race car (OK, exaggeration - but the difference is huge in feel, and I'm not talking about power either).

I do have hesitations on the new one though. I think there's a risk it'll be bigger (dimensions, not weight) and more luxury-focused. Also, a turbo-6 is not engaging in the same way as a high-revving NA engine.

If they can make the new 1M look decent and don't mess up the driving dynamics, it will be a great car to have.

Oh, I just didn't see it listed on the bmwusa website and assumed it was cut out.

Just temporarily. I heard the M3 sedan is being released first.
