I'm not sure what you mean... Westport isn't a town of bigots. If anything, some may look down on people lower down the socioeconomic ladder, but there's not going to be much racism.

Of course, I don't care what race you are, if you walk down Main Street in Westport looking thugged out, you're going to get some uncomfortable stares.

Yep. Just as if a Westport resident walked down the street in the bad section of Bridgeport wearing plaid shorts and a neck sweater, they would stand out.

Exactly. Westport has a very clean cut, preppy aesthetic, so anyone not following that "look" is going to stand out. It has nothing to do with where you come from or race.

I live in Westport. I don't react at all when I see a minority person.

RE: Movie theaters-- An Art oriented theater will be constructed behind Main Street's Tavern on the Main over the next year.

I don't get the impression that minorities are picked on, at all. But, I have to say that if you are uncomfortable in Westport, I wouldn't recommend moving there. Move someplace that feels like home to you, someplace where you feel like you could fit in! Take a trip to a house of worship, a couple of stores. See what you think before committing.

Somewhat true but you may be able to fool people into thinking you're a famous rap artist. Certainly believable that they would hang out in Westport just as 50 Cent had his Farmington residence along with Tyson.

I'm in Norwalk surrounded by all these towns. You have all walks of life down here. Many people are also not from around here. I think I know more people living in these towns who did not grow up around here than I know natives. If you are versatile and can handle multiple personalities then you won't have a problem with people in Fairfield County in general. Even if you don't fit the status quo, I'd say people mind their own business anyways. If they don't they maybe you should tell them to. You have to stick up for yourself.

Not sure what a movie theatre has to do with it, but 25-30 years ago Westport had 4 theaters with a total of 5 screens. Like thousands of other theaters across the country, in rich areas and poor areas, urban and rural, they have closed down due to the declining movie industry.

A gorgeous town ridden with filthy rich people that have so much money that they have nothing better to do than to drive around in their luxury cars and spoil their children rotten. These children are living better right now than many the majority of the United States ever will. So what do they do? They buy all designer clothing, get either a Range Rover, a BMW, or a Lexus when they turn 16, get incredibly drunk and stoned at least twice a week. Go figure. On the other hand though, they mostly manage to do incredibly in academics and sports and many of the children will go to ivy league schools.
