Cool info from CT News8 Video with Dr. Jeffrey Park at Yale University.

More Seismic Activity: Why? | wxedge.com

Amazingly enough, these faults were caused by melted glaciers from thousands of years ago.

Dr. Jeffrey Park, Yale University, “When it retreated, it took this weight off the land, off of coastal Connecticut and ever since the glaciers have been retreating that land has been trying to bulge upward in response to the release of the load.”

So has all of the tension been released after 10 earthquakes in under a week?

Dr. Jeffrey Park, Yale University, “It’s magnitudes 2, 3, there are actually some magnitude 1’s that have been recorded but they’re persistent…there have been several over several days so it’s likely that we’ll have a few more shakes before we’re all done.”

I just watched someone from the Weston Observatory say these small quakes can often precede a much larger quake… wonder how accurate that is.

That's usually on the big faults like in CA or the west coast.
Glad to see it's just not Irving TX that's having a few quakes. It sure get's the worry level up.

Don't let it affect your homes resale values.
