Hi,

Does anyone have any idea about flooding of Rooster River around Stratfield Elementary School (Melville Avenue) in Fairfield? We are looking at house on that street, but are nervous about the river running in the back of the property.

The Rooster River does flood but I do not know how bad it gets near Melville Avenue. I know that area well and do not remember it ever flooding badly but I can't be certain. I would contact the Town Engineer's office at Town Hall and ask them. Better yet go there and make the inquiry. Thye should be able to help you. Jay
