I thought this article had an interesting take on what is happening with the population in Connecticut but I do wonder how accurate their projections are relating to suburbs. While it is true that millenials have been slow to start families and move to the suburbs, I believe that this was more due to a struggling economy than a real trend. As I said before, there are signs that they are doing the same thing as their parents and grandparents with moving to suburbs when they begin to have families. We will see. Jay

The comparative data is readily available on this site and others ...the COL in Denver is 25% less than its equivalent in CT ..driven by taxes , groceries .. utilities ...transportation .. and health care.

That is stale data. Denver has exploded in the last 18-24 months alone. And their public schools are overcrowded/badly funded.

That may be true if comparing it to southwestern Fairfield County but not true for the rest of the state. Jay

Denver is ballooning fast. Congestion, COL -- not nice things. If all things were equal I would take a stable, gradual improving economy than a busty one. And Denver has really no comparison to the tristate area. Too small in comparison to NYC and much bigger than Hartford or Stamford.

On that neck of the woods I like Salt Lake City a lot more than Denver, and SLC is even a weirder comparison to CT.

I wish CT would have bigger cities that are hip like those places like make Hartford bigger place same for New Haven. They both close to airports, Uconn and Yale etc

Annexation? Maybe New Haven, but I doubt any suburb of Hartford will want to join city proper. East Hartford, but that is a long shot.

So if the United Technologies/Rockwell merger goes through, do they leave Connecticut?
