I was born in PA but came here at about 1 month old.

My Dad was an engineer and got a job in Wilton. It was his first job out of grad school and FFC was expensive as hell even then, so they moved a bit further up. Southbury had not had the IBM boom yet (it was 1979) so was pretty affordable even for a first home - but they had to get a 15% interest rate mortgage.. imagine!

Southbury had only 1 traffic light at the time, near the 84 interchange.

Perkin-Elmer eventually moved from Wilton to Danbury, and so he worked in that same building off Wooster Heights Rd, through when it was Hughes Optical etc. I believe it's now Goodrich but my parents have since moved out of state and are about to retire.

My mom taught in the Region 15 school system (at Rochambeau and then Memorial) and then Region 12 (at Shepaug).

I lived in Southbury until college (Boston), and then again after college for about 2 years. Then my parents moved and I had to move closer to my (terrible paying) job in Hartford, so I was living in Wethersfield for a couple years. Then I got a job out in California in 2005 and did quite well... I've been splitting my time between CT and the bay area since then.

Born in Manhatten but my parents built a house in north stamford in 1977 when I was 1 year old. They are still in the same house. I left for the University of Florida in 94, lived in FL for awhile, then Charlotte and just returned to CT for DH's job last month.

Born in St Francis Hospital in Hartford, raised in E Hartford and Manchester, lived as an adult in Manchester, Southington, Florida and Glastonbury. I've come to learn that folks in other parts of the US have no idea how to pronounce or spell Glastonbury!

I was born in Plattsburgh, NY but then moved to Hartford, CT at 6 months old with parents. Then, we moved to Rocky Hill (ages 2 - 11) and then Granby (ages 11 - 22), living in three different houses in that town (my parents are on their 6th primary residence now). So I really grew up in Granby, which is a fantastic town to grow up in. After that, I lived on my own in NYC (ages 22 - 23) and moved back to Granby, CT (age 23-24) with parents. Then, I moved into my own apartment in Vernon (age 24-26), then an apartment in Middletown (age 26-27), then an apartment in Plainville (Age 27-28), then back with parents in Granby for a few months. Now I am living independently again (age 29) in Norwalk with a fabulous job in Stamford. But I don't see myself staying here permanently, depending on how the financial/housing/career/marital status situation unfolds. But I do intend to stay here for at least 3 years.
