Unfortunately she has not been back since her last post on this thread four years ago. You could start your own thread here if there are any questions that were not answered or if you want an update. Jay

If you can find an affordable home (to you) in Shelton I would say "Go for it!" It is a wonderful town where I grew up.

I could not afford to live there as an adult and so I had apartments in Bridgeport, Stratford, and Milford. Milford was the best. I would eventually find an affordable condo there and was very happy there. Schools are just fine even if not A+++. Good parenting and a motivated student will do just fine.

Thank you! I passed through Milford and enjoyed myself but I definitely have to make a few more visits to all these areas to get a feel for the towns. I'm a beach person so I was super happy in Milford. It seems like an active place.

If you are looking for an active place, then I would highly recommend Milford. The walkability, parks, events, coastal happenings are hard to match in the area. Also worth considering Fairfield, if you can afford it. Orange, Trumbull, Monroe, etc. are very nice towns, but also very sleepy in comparison. They have a completely different feel. Hilly/wooded vs. coastal/walkable. There are parts of Milford/Fairfield that have the hilly/wooded character though, in the north.
