A family member is moving to danbury ct close to ''abbott'' ave i was just wondering how this area is? As far as being safe and the crime..

Not the best part of Danbury, but a fine neighborhood. No unusual crime/safety issues.

Agreed. Also the houses closer to Lake Ave. are not as nice. They get the brunt of the Lake Ave. traffic.

Looking at homes as well in the Danbury area. West side in the wooster heights area near the tarrywile park. How is this neighborhood? Are the folks friendly, and open minded. We are from westchester and NYC but looking for a bit more affordable house with lower taxes. Tell me why you love Danbury.

Over by Wooster Heights is nice. I grew up over there. Danbury is the safest city in the state and one of the safest in New England. Taxes are good. It is many amenties that most cities of its size don't offer, and does not feel congested. You are only 70 minutes to the city.

Actually Milford is behind Shelton. Strangely enough, Shelton is incorporated as a city.
