You don't ever get sick of the same thing over and over?

Do you eat the same things for dinner every night? Do you never occasionally get a bad meal somewhere and then appreciate the good one you get the next day twice as much?

Good question. I guess, for me, the dominant weather mode in CT was damp. It was either cold and wet or hot and humid. Days with dry, pleasant air were (it seemed to me) rare. It was never pleasant to work in my semi-underground garage; either cold and wet or airless and humid. I couldn't leave any tools in the garage, either, because they would rust like crazy. Because I lived in a "high ranch" I had no other place for mechanical or wood work. It frustrated me the whole time I lived there. (I couldn't build a free standing shop either because the zoning rules and my lot lines made that impossible.)

Were there beautiful spring and fall days with the kind of air I liked? Yeah, but way too few of them.

I suppose other people like dampness. I don't.

Current temps across CT running about 10-20 below norm for the hour. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/gmap.php?zoom=8&extents=41.347948,-76.047363,43.77506,-71.488037&density=1

No winds, clear skies = Pure radiational cooling effect.

If you want warmth right now, head to Milford! LOL!!

Oh man. Sorry to hear that. lol Good luck. I look forward to you coming back here and telling us you miss the warm season break. Looking at Miami's data, they've hit 80° and warmer every single month even this winter. Basically 75% of the time since November 1st hitting 80°+. Sick.

Ha, I don't view Connecticut as "damp" at all, save for the humid summer months (July-August). I lived in Florida...that is damp. If you weren't running AC 365 days a year, you'd have yourself a mold problem. It is so bone dry in the winter in CT, I need to run a whole house humidifier from November through April. I put a couple gallons of water per day into the air in my house! Damp it is not.

Gearing up to swap the snow thrower for the tractor, clean out the garage, setup the patio in the next week. I'm ready to be outside again.

I hear you. I'm in a high-ranch (all above ground, not a half-in like most) and my garage gets really humid. I mistakenly washed my tractor once and parked it in the garage. The concrete stayed wet for 3 weeks until I finally put two dehumidifiers in there running full blast all day to get rid of it.

That being said, I'm used to the change of seasons and enjoy it. I've lived in Southern California and Michigan (polar opposites) and I like the change of seasons as much or more as the consistent weather that SoCal had.

Ask me again when I retire in 20 years.
