Go to court, dress in a suit and tie, cut your hair, shave, shine your freakin' shoes if you have to, use your "yes ma'am, no sir" language, but most importantly, BE HONEST. Don't give them the crap about "I sped up to not get hit" because frankly, that's garbage and they will crucify you for it.
You have no idea how quickly you can be killed or, as it happens in most cases, you can kill someone else. Drive the speed limit and be a courteous person. Treat people on the roads the way you want to be treated.
i meant as in front of me. There were cars behind me. Maybe 3 cars. but nothing will hold up in court. I learned a valuable lesson atleast. How long will the suspension be? 6-12 months im assuming?
My nephew went through the same thing last year. He was suspended for 180 days. Be respectful to the judge, take FULL responsibility without excuses. Show that you have learned form this, and that it will make you a better driver in the future.
Teenagers make mistakes. You're not unique on this one-- Just be smart in the future.
Now this week I got clocked going 81 on a 45, reason why is that I took a turn going onto Route 3 (Live in Rocky Hill) and the car behind me was going 65, i sped up to not get hit and when i realized how fast I was going I hit my breaks to go to the posted speed limit but it was too late and the damage was done. Cop pulls me over and told him honestly what happened.
I agree this sounds like a BS excuse.
1. How do you know the car behind you was going 65 mph?
2. How were they speeding behind you if you were taking a turn? Do you mean you pulled out in front of a speeding car? Were they speeding behind you as you turned?
3. You were doing the speed limit and suddenly accelerated to 81 mph?
4. Why would your first instinct be to not tell the cop the entire truth?
You are well within your right to get a lawyer though you probably don't need one. You'll probably have a fine to pay and some points on your license. Be glad you didn't kill or permanently injure anyone and hopefully you learned your lesson. Oh, and stop driving like an a-hole.

1. Knew because the speed he was reaching my vehicle was way past 40. I accelerated to the point where there was at least a whole car length worth of distance
2. Yes exactly like that, sorry if I worded it confusingly
3. Nope was doing 81 then noticed how fast I was going and slowed down to the posted speed limit, didn't matter as the cop already clocked me going 81, the driver behind me slowed down as well to accommodate following distance.
4. The entire truth sounds like BS It's the truth but it wouldn't hold up in court at all. Thinking logically i guess.
Didn't want to be shown as driving like an a-hole, i'm well known in the town and alot of people find me as a respectful kid, But that doesn't really matter in the court, Me answering to this post doesn't really matter seeing as the damage is done. I just wanted to know what my options were.
When I was your age I found that a car that could outrun the police cars was a good idea. That, and a mudded out license plate.
haha, I used to drive a 2013 camry, not anymore seeing because my parents are taking it away for looooonnnggg time. I'm screwed for insurance aswell so im just gonna go buy a beater car with the money I have saved up for college.

No, don't do that. You can't buy a car at 17 anyway without your parents signing.
Look, you'll likely lose your license or at least have restrictions put on it (here the time it remains provisional would restart) so just suck it up. Don't spend your college money on a car.
I was lucky (or dumb) but have never lost my license (I'm almost 60). Then again, police were a bit more lenient with new drivers than they are now.

I'll figure the car thing out once I get my license back, as of right now they took it away for 48 hours but parents won't let me drive anytime soon, I know the DMV sends you a letter saying how long your license is suspended and until you get that letter you can continue to drive. How much would the insurance premiums cost for me now?

My oldest son got booted from our insurance and could not drive any vehicle insured by our insurance company (no matter the owner) when he was around 21, an accident or 2 combined with a couple speeding tickets. His insurance on a 95 Taurus wagon (liability only) and an 01 Nissan Frontier (full coverage) started out at just under $400/month. It went down a bit each year for 3 years. He was then allowed to drive our vehicles. He's now 28 and has regular insurance.
