Really? Quite the commute since you said just a couple hours ago we were now located in South Carolina.

Im there plenty. In addition to having lived in downtown previously as well as working and going to school there I still have contacts there that bring me downtown regularly.

The slide that Middletown has been in lately, I see alot more of the "walking dead heroin addicts and homeless" as you referred to them, there then in downtown Hartford recently. All of downtown Hartford is a virtual utopia COMPARED to what was going on say 20 years ago there. Middletown is the opposite.

Rumor that rock cats are moving from New Britain to Hartford. As much as I hate to see them leave because I grew up right down the street from the stadium it would be an awesome move to out them in Hartford. They have been breaking attendance records all over the place and would breed life back into Hartford. Rockcats plus Uconn. Hartford might have a chance.

Also rumors that the owners want to move the team to Springfield! Please do not let this be true.

This was all over Channel 3 news this morning. New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart denies this happening saying that she contacted the General Manager and he denied knowing this. Still it is unlikely Channel 3 would report it so prominently without knowing it is true. According to them, a new stadium will be built just north of I-84 so it would be immediately adjacent to downtown which would be a good feature. Hopefully will get more people downtown. Jay

They're going to fit a stadium which would need to seat at least a Double A professional baseball minimum of 6,000 seats at Main and Trumbull Streets? Ha! Good luck with that one! Another poster mentioned a New Britain franchise and Springfield, MA? What? Is this 1994 all over again? Sheesh! What the city could do (but likely won't) is tear down the old decrepit Beehive Field next door. The only reason that still stands is due to New Britain High School being on the other side of Willow Brook from it. (They use Beehive Field for their baseball games.)
