There is already one in the Hartford area at Westfarms Mall. Coming from SE CT - the one at Westfarms is closer - I can just shoot up Route 9, which rarely has traffic and be there in 45-50 minutes. Evergreen Walk would be closer to an hour for me, if not a few minutes more. New Haven would be an easier drive than Evergreen Walk.
I'm not a big fan of Apple products in general, though, so would only go if my wife or daughter needed something there.
This is great. One less reason to deal with West Hartford. Parking at that mall is a headache and that section of i84 is a disaster. Now we just need a Trader Joes east of the river.
is Westfarms like Trumbull Mall where where certain times the mall get sketchy
Westfarms is more upscale than Trumbull. In addition to Macy's and J C Penney, there is a Lord & Taylor and a Nordstroms. It is owned by the Taubman Company who is known for keeping their malls more upscale. Trumbull is owned by Westfield which is known to cater to the lowest level of shopper. Sad because before Trumbull was bought by Westfield, it was a decent mall. now it is mostly junk IMHO. Jay

It does get some 'element' from Hartford and New Britain.
However, that is a very minor issue compared to the congestion both in the mall itself and the road that parallels the mall. Parking can be a nightmare. I-84 is a death trap in that area. Everything about that mall is typical antiquated Connecticut.
