We currently have optimum and now that our bundle pricing has expired, our new "bundle" deal we are getting isn't really a deal at all. I'd like to cancel cable/phone but then of course our internet goes up to $59.99 a month and its not even that fast.
My boyfriend and I need reasonably high speed internet as we both have to work from home now and again but we are tired of getting backed into a corner by these big box companies.
Short of going back to the dark ages of plugging a phone chord into the wall and having dial up internet are there any other options besides optimum/ATT Uverse.
I don't think so - went through this last year. You can try threatening to switch to ATT and they might match for another year, but that's about it. Let me know what happens though pls b/c I'm ready to switch / drop it all together myself.
Do not be afraid to play one company against the other. We have found they will offer you a break when you threaten to leave. If you don't get anywhere with the technician, ask to speak to a Manager. They can be more flexible. Good luck, Jay
ATT uverse isn't available to us nor is Fios. It sucks because I don't think there is anyone for us to even threaten to switch to. I suppose I don't have to say the name and just say we've found someone else.
I have tried to cancel cable in the past and that's when the free Showtime, Encore and Starz was thrown at us.
I guess we are about due to threaten to cancel again and see what we get for free this time.
Hopefully frontier will be coming to our area soon now that they've bought up AT & Ts lines but will probably be a while cause we'll totally switch to them and sign up for another package.
I hate this game we have to play. Its the same with cell phone providers. They just have this monopoly and have you by the cohones.
So unfair.
