You are right about the corruption kidyankee. I live in Trumbull. I know people who have a house and land the same size as mine in Bridgeport and they pay a lot more then me. I can't fathom why people who make such little money can be taxed so much given the fact that Bridgeport gets millions from the state. When I ask people who live in Bridgeport why they are taxed so much they casually say "it's all the corruption". I can't believe the corruption is just common knowledge and nothing get done about it. I don't get it.

This is why I think Bridgeport has the most potential to become a great city (like it used to be) and can be turned around on a dime. Bridgeport is sitting on prime real estate on the water with a train that goes into NYC. Every time I go into Bridgeport I think "what a shame and shame on the corrupt people here".

This starts with the residents. Until the community is ready to turn over a new leaf, it will continue down the seedy path it's on.

I half agree with you. The city faced the same issues that almost every industrial city faced. The issue is that there was a real push for plans that were pie in the sky to switch fortunes quickly with no focus on the small victories that were and are needed to get things continually rolling.

Can only choose one? BP,WB and NL are all useless dumps. I would never recommend an out of stater come "visit NH or Hartford" but they have their own merit to locals.

ready to take on the feedback, but... Bridgeport. Not because it says so in Family guy, but because i drove through the town one day and got lost, and HOLLY ****! it was scary as .*****. Broken down houses with trees growing inside, abandoned plants, random suspiciously-looking, intoxicated-looking middle aged men hanging out in groups at noon on porches... might sound snobbish, but indeed i was scary and drove with my doors locked. I can only imagine how many drug deals happen on those streets.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– New Haven is the most dangerous place in Connecticut, according to a real estate brokerage site that used FBI data to rank the top ten most dangerous places in our state.
While Connecticut is one of the safest states in the nation, ranked the 11th safest state, there are some cities that are more prone to crime than others.
Professional home sellers atModerator cut: link removed, linking to competitor sites is not allowedused the 2012 FBI’s Uniform Crime Report to rank places based on murders, violent crimes, and property crimes per 100,000 people.
Here is the list of the top ten most dangerous places:

1. City of New Haven
2. City of Hartford
3. City of Bridgeport
4. City of New London
5. City of Waterbury
6. City of New Britain
7. Town of East Hartford
8. City of Meriden
9. City of Derby
10. Town of Manchester

I would put Waterbury was the 4th, Bridgeport and Hartford very close, then New Britain and New London

I always find it a shame to have the good, safe neighborhoods (like mine) grouped into one of these dumb things. Where I live in Derby is NOWHERE near the numbered streets area that this survey clearly targets. None of these cities have any good parts?? Crime happens everywhere......even in the snob infested rich areas.
