I'll start off by saying I'm a survivor of domestic abuse , and I'm now living on my own with a friend . The problem I have is , I don't have a job and if I don't get one soon I might have to go back to my abuser or end up on the street . I asked the women's shelter for help , one of them gave me a tempt agency in Norwalk but when I called the agency refused to help me ,because I live in Bridgeport on top of that they gave me the number to a tempt agency in ,Bridgeport which turned out just to be an oil company .
I've only found one tempt agency in Brigeport all the others I called are out of business or either only help people who can work in the corporate world and have College degrees . I asked the shops ,and restaurants in my town if their hiring they all said no .
So I'm wondering are their agencies in Norwalk, that also help people that live in Bridgeport . I don't mind working in Norwalk all I want is just a starter job to get me on my feet either in retail , or working in a factory ,I don't want to go back to my abuser ,and the women's shelter isn't doing much to help .
I tried looking for jobs online and that turned out a waste . I just want a list to choose from and I need a job asap .

Please don't let frustration get you. Never, ever go back to the abuser. I was very frustrated upon my release from prison last year. Didn't seem like I could find work. I kept on and now things are getting better. Just keep fighting on. PM me if you want to.

Did you try Manpower? They usually offer temp jobs and they have an office in Stamford but I think they serve Bridgeport as well. Their link is below. Another place to look is the Connecticut Labor Department which offers job finding services. A link to their website is below also. Finally check out The Center for Family Justice at 753 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. They have a Hotline (203-384-9559 or 888-774-2900). They might also be able to direct you to other social services offered by the state. Good luck, Jay

You can also try Monroe Staffing I think they have an office in Trumbull.

A visit to the unemployment office would help too. They can assist with job searches, resumes, and interviewing skills. They have numerous seminars every week.
