I've lived here for almost three decades, the only time I remember the National Guard and State Military being mobilised was in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

I highly doubt the Guard or State Military would be called in for a parade. Maybe the State Police if anything. It takes a while for the first two to get anywhere.

Not really. You must be thinking only of Manhattan but even it still has some rough spots. If you look at New York City has a whole there are many bad areas in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. Jay
