Getting off Route 8 South to I84 East there's a sign saying your not suppose to merge, but they do. I do at times sometimes. The traffic around rush hour isn't that bad maybe adds an extra 10 to 15 minutes going up to Harper's Ferry Exit East then it turns to three lane and your fine. Going West I only really hit traffic at that 691 exchange then it clears up in Waterbury around the mall area around rush hour.

I can understand them fixing the MixMaster bridge not sure how that will be a nightmare.

I am a Waterbury native came here when I was 1 lived here till I was 25 moved back when I was 27. Waterbury is a city with potential but it needs a lot of money and work to grow change and thrive again.

School's need to be fixed up, needs businesses, needs attractions, needs restaurants, a new mall or fix the mall up, stores, fix the green up, more parks/greenways, less crime/illicit drug use, improve roads/infrastructure, improve traffic, fix potholes, and an area like SoNo/Black Rock.

Waterbury is strategically located 30 minutes from every major area in CT except the far Eastern side of the state.

The Mixmaster and Reidville all coincidence. It's a nightmare and a headache there.they changed th traffic pattern causing this huge back up and then instead of two lanes it's basically one big lane.
You can't just take transportation money and give it to the schools. Those highways serve thousands of people each day. They pay taxes to maintain and improve the highways they travel on. As it is our highways need a lot more work than we can provide with current taxes. As for the construction, it is two lanes but they are narrow with no shoulders. Again it is temporary so they can build a better highway. No pain, no gain. Jay

I don't deny any of this and do think the city has the best mayor it's had in a loooong time. There are plans that hopefully can come to fruition. But I still think that the perception doesn't help. I know a few people who won't go to the mall (even when it first opened and had some high end stores) because they are afraid. Waterbury does need work, but being afraid to go to the mall is ridiculous.

Only one track on the non-electrified line. Is Danbury the same?

I'm on board with that statement.

Have to say there is some good eggs in Waterbury schools. Also good teachers. Waterbury had an astronaut graduate from its public school system.

Though Waterbury is walkable?

Town Plot, East End near Frost, Fulton Park area, parts of North End and East Mountain and of course downtown. And the astronaut comes back to Crosby every year to talk to the kids. That's awesome!
