Hi there,

I have a flight scheduled to London on Saturday night. Due to leave JFK at 9:35pm. Based on all of the projections should I be looking to change my flight to Friday day or night?

Thanks so much.

It's funny, I saw another article about that stat (and it gave an actual date for the last time, the President's Day 2003 storm), and it said what the NWS based that stat on was snow totals in Boston, NYC, Philly, Baltimore and DC. So if there was a "snow hole" of some sort in say Hartford and/or Providence it would still count as "over a foot in the entire Bos-Wash corridor".

So good point....as I thought it actually included at least Hartford or CT in general given the distance from NYC to Boston.

Think the most the state is going to see is 6 inches and 50 to 60 MPH wind's. Have to see by Friday what the models say.

YUP... MUCH.

Euro12z is much south more with the Upper Low and the storm ... that means .... much less snow for CT and the whole snow total areas have changed.

Wont have a snowmap from it until 2:30pm when it updates.

So now we should ask... is this because the system/energy is closer to land now with better data getting fed into the models, or is the Euro just off??

See it? Storm off North Carolina, not Virginia! Makes a HUGE difference where the heavy snows are.

QPF amounts:

Albany: 0.00"
Boston: 0.18" (All Snow)
Windsor Locks: 0.15" (All Snow)
Danbury: 0.21" (All Snow)
Bridgeport: 0.38" (All Snow)
Philly: 0.88" (All Snow)
Atlantic City: 1.81" (All Snow, mixing for few hours)
DC: 1.99" (All Snow)
Raleigh: 2.52" (Ice to Rain to heavy Snow)

So basically 2-5" across CT assuming 12:1 ratios. LMAO. Trend or an off run? DC gets slammed still

Major?

Says 3-5 inches. Hardly the stuff of historic proportions.

No new updates till after 10pm.

GFS18z comes out at 6pm, I may post that. Usually 18z runs aren't as reliable as they have the same data from the 12z, just have a different result sometimes.
