The town will assess the vehicle at 70% its value. Each town has a tax rate, called a mil rate. If a town's mil rate is 30, and your vehicle is assessed at 15k, you'll pay $30 for every thousand your vehicle is assessed at. 15 multiplied by 30 = $450 each year. Note: your vehicle will decline in value so it will be less as the years go on.

you're much more likely to find people of Asian descent nearby in Farmington or Avon than you are in Burlington. Most will be Chinese or Indian, but there will definitely be some of Thai descent. Avon has about 18,100 people and about 6.5% Asian, so over 1,100 persons of Asian descent - Farmington has about 24,000 people and is 4% Asian, or almost 1,000.

Granted, West Hartford dwarfs both towns in Asian population.

Burlington is a great town. While it's not the most diverse town, racism is not an issue that I know of in the area.

A lot busier than Burlington - a dense, blue collar small city of 60,000. The schools are average, at best. Burlington is rural and maybe 8,000?

I agree.

Burlington is a much nicer town to raise a family, IMO.

The OP said upthread that they like quiet surroundings. While there are some decent to good residential areas in Bristol, it's definitely not as desirable of a town as Burlington.

Bristol is 60,000 people over 26 square miles; Burlington is 9,000 people over 30 square miles. 2,308/square mile vs 300/square mile.

Burlington - median household income is $105,000 and is 71% married families
Bristol - median household income is 57,600 and is under 50% married families.

So, Burlington has a lot higher percentage of families in town.
