This place is a joke! Do not listen to anything they say or promise, because it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a lie! Being a new building there is also constant changes, not only construction wise, but also policies and etc. For example, they started off with 24 hour security, and then decided to get rid of the 1st shift during the weekdays after the Quiznos downstairs was robbed at gunpoint! Now I believe that they are getting rid of the 1st and 2nd shift on the weekend after one of them were mugged while on duty! Management is by far the biggest problem here. The fact that they have no presence doesn't help much when you change your phone number and do not answer anyone’s calls. If you choose to take a tour and visit this place, ask the tenants you see walking around about their experiences. I always feel bad for the suckers who have no idea what they are getting into! Don’t be fooled by a pretty face! If you make the unfortunate decision to move here, make sure you go over your lease with an attorney and make amendments! Best of luck!

Default Just say "no" to 915

..because they'll say no to you.
Here's what you won't get from 915 Main:

Inside your apartment
No screens on your windows
No windows washed
No pad under your carpet
No insulation between walls - you'll hear everything
No icemaker in your fridge
No swivel faucet at your kitchen sink
No garbage disposal
No individual billing of your electricity, which is illegal (google it)
No door stops
No roman / oversize tubs
No shower curtain rods
No medicine cabinets
No proper ducting - you'll get other people's cooking smells seeping in from the ducting somewhere

Outside of your apartment
No parking
No consistent, effective front door security
No janitor service in the lobby on weekends
No consistently working elevators
No fresh air in the lobby
No way to reserve the loading dock for move-in/move-out
No snow removal from doorways on weekends
No clean hallway carpets
No delivery of packages to your door. Walk 3 blocks to the office to get them
No heat or A/C in any community area
No recycling program

Living at 915 was like living in a college dormitory. The parties were loud and constant. Hallways and elevators aren't cleaned on weekends. On one Friday night, someone vomited in the elevator, and it wasn't attended to until mid-day Monday. That's almost 72 hours! Isn't that bordering on a health hazard?

Be sure to watch your step when you leave, as you'll be dodging vomit and garbage out the back door most weekends. In the summer, we've seen residents on the 2nd floor above the front entrance put speakers up to the windows and blast their tunes into the street.

Right outside the front entrance, there's a bus stop. People waiting for the bus will take shelter in the alcove. They'll smoke and block the entrances. In the summer, the smoke will rise, right into your open windows if you're on that side of the building.

The nightclubs nearby can make walking your dog or returning from the parking garage uncomfortable past about 9pm. In late November 2012 a fight broke out on Main St. which eventually involved perhaps 100 people. Several businesses were vandalized.

Every fixture, appliance and appointment inside the apartment is the absolute cheapest that apparently could be found. The appliances are the base models and the hardware, cabinets, and sink fixtures are low-quality. Tubs are small, not the larger "Roman" style available in most places that describe themselves as "luxury apartments." The only thing 'upgraded' is the granite counter tops.

The complex has no parking. They'll offer you a discount at Talcott parking garage. Do not park your vehicle in the Talcott parking garage, managed by LAZ parking. The building is in extreme disrepair, despite promises to repair it (news story here: Talcott Street garage subject of complaints - WFSB 3 Connecticut). The exposed water pipes above your car leak rusty, oily liquid onto your car's finish. LAZ is aware of this, and they will offer to wash your car for free. They'll offer to use a product called Lime-Away. They should read the bottle - it warns you not to use it on painted metal. The rusty oily stains can be buffed off your car's paint with polishing compound, but it will stain any plastic forever. Finally, they lock the place down on Sundays, which means you can't use the 'inside shortcut' through the Fox building. It's ridiculously inconvenient even if the monthly rate is cheaper than closer lots. You'll have to pay your monthly fee by writing a paper check and hand-carrying it to the office - there's no online or bill-pay option.

The management is off-site (the office, where you must pick up your packages, is at 266 Pearl...3 blocks away). They're generally unresponsive to your requests / concerns. The maintenance person is a nice guy, but English is his second language so you'll need lots of patience to explain what you want done.

Our jobs cause us to move every few years, so we've rented a wide variety of apartments. We count 915 as the biggest mistake we've ever made. There simply is nothing about living here that we could honestly find positive. We hope that this detailed review helps future prospective renters find other, more desirable places to live, and perhaps motivates management or the investors to make some hard but necessary choices.
