Again, they probably aren't familiar with traffic patterns and possible shortcuts known to locals. There is a lot more to commuting than a Google search, ya know. And it shouldn't make you feel inclined to give them BS answers that would double their commute time. This forum is to help people relocate, not steer them in the wrong direction.

That's what I thought. Just ignore the rude, trollish posts. If you look in their posting history, you'll see it's fairly common.

There's nothing trollish about it. OP asked about the "most efficient" way. In my view, the most efficient method of getting somewhere is not in a carbon-spewing deathtrap. Others will reasonably disagree.

So you actually meant your advice?

Did you ever actually DO the ride you proposed? It would be comically painful.

OP.... 684 to 84. Done it many times. Only rough spot is 84 from NY border to Danbury in evening rush but you'll still be under an hour most days. Avoid Friday afternoon if you can flex your time.

OK, don't take mass transit. I'm done caring.

Its not about not taking mass transit..You do understand that right? Clearly you do not live up in the Danbury area. Smart thing to say would have been "sorry OP ...didnt realize how long that would take" rather than continue to defend your position.

Actually I wouldn't even take 84... Rivington is literally on the NY/CT border. Take Route 6/202 right to 684 and avoid the traffic on 84 altogether, especially the evening commute where it always bottlenecks. Instead of getting off exit 9E on 684, go the 1/4 mile farther and get off exit 10 which puts you right on route 6. Easy peasy. Current traffic conditions: 37 minutes right now (and it's raining, and it's still rush hour...). It's a very easy commute. (No traffic, and it shows as a 28 minute commute)

Use Google Maps or Waze on your phone if you want to avoid traffic, but generally 84>684 is your route.
