Some Thanksgiving records today will note (in Central Park, I'm sure even more so with BDR and their shorter record since a lot of Thanksgiving and even general November cold records are from the 1800s and early 1900s)

- coldest Macy's parade ever (started in 1924, 19 degrees at parade start, previous record 21 degrees in 1972, I was at the 3rd coldest one in 1996 and remember it well (23 degrees))

- Ties 1901 for 2nd coldest Thanksgiving Day ever (record is 15 in 1871....however note that until the 1930s Thanksgiving came on the last Thursday in November, and in 1871 and 1901 it was on the 29th and 30th.....under the "old rules" we would be the 29th this year as well. So in some ways this is the coldest ever.

- High at midnight was 27.....if that sticks I believe this will be the first 20s high in November in decades.

Even more impressive is today is the earliest possible date for Thanksgiving

You guys are lucky there's no big blocking in the North Atlantic. This would of lasted longer and been south more.

Although forecasts have been lowered for today and tonight. lol.

Temps moderate into the weekend then another arctic blast next week. Weaker.

Can't believe normal is around 50. Have we been in the 50s in past 2 weeks? lol

Thanks, it's funny I didn't post that with my other stuff because I was going through NOW data like you tell me about and saw an 18 degree low on Nov. 25, 2013. But I realized that ironically I was looking at the data for BDR
