I had to see how yesterdays 21° looked on graph... Coldest November max temp for Hartford, CT. Nobody alive today experienced a November daytime temp that cold. (113yrs of records)

Anyone else noticing these historic drops happening more? I need to start making a list. Losing count.

Not sure, though last November there was a cold blast earlier in the month that in Central Park actually broke daily records two days in a row (for the first time since 1994).

I am wondering how historic the 15 degree November low in NYC is....I am thinking it may have happened only twice in the 20th century (i.e. the 1900s) based on looking at record low temps for the rest of November (if you throw out the 1800s this is the earliest in the season 15 degree low there.....but record not broken because it was 14 on this date in 1880), I think the only other times it happened after 1900 are 12 degrees on Nov. 27, 1932 and 15 on November 28, 1930; though I am not sure when or if it happened on November 30 after 1900 since that record low is a freak single numbers reading back in 1875.

Yesterday, Mt. Washington was even colder at -26 and was the coldest temp in the country. Looks like today coldest temp in the "lower 48" will be Old Forge, NY (one of two sites that has the coldest ever NY State temp of -52) in the Adirondacks, they were -26 this morning.

Also:

JFK Airport coldest ever November temp

LaGuardia ties November 29, 1955 for coldest ever November temp

Newark 2nd coldest November temp (got down to 13, record is 12 on November 27, 1932)

Max of 31° at BDL. 2nd day in a row with sub freezing temp in November.

You know what that means? Nobody younger than 40 years old living in Hartford area has experienced that.

Years Hartford had back to back sub freezing days in November. Only 7 of 113 yrs.
Been since 1978.

1917
1924
1929
1933
1938
1978
2018
