Groton will be cooler for sure, but the temperature is misleading because the groton airport is right on long island sound. You go even 1/2 mile inland from that station and the temperature goes way up. Most of groton is not on the sand obviously. So really that's a "beach" report coming from the airport. Take a look at the stations reporting on wunderground in groton area and you'll see the difference. Difference is even more stark in RI especially in early spring to early summer when water is freezing. Temperature can change drastically just a few blocks inland. It kind of sucks because where you actually want it to be warm(the beach) it ends up being way cooler, while inland is hotter. It will be near 100 in hartford while in RI on the sand it will probably be around 82 degrees right on the beach, but go just slightly inland and you get a rapid rise in temperature.

I edited my earlier post as BDL was 96.8 not 98.6.

This site too.. I see a 101° already. Lots of 90s north of I95





Looks like the map has the between hours but the list only lists the hourly.

2:25pm. I see more 100's out there. Only 97 at BDL. Haven't checked the max yet.
