Downtown Stamford. Just kidding.

I like Stylo's list.

Add Westport, Westin, & Easton in there. You can definitely find some charming spots within them

Lots of love for Southport on this board. Seems like an unassuming place...

Maybe if you’ve only been through on Route 1? Drive in/around the harbor and get back to us. And the little downtown is nice too.

Nichols in Trumbull.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nichols,_Connecticut

Nichols is on the National Register of Historic Places and that is a really hard thing to be on. Igor Sikorsky lived there and if you scroll down you can see his 3 houses there. This is one place you will NEVER see a beautiful old home torn down to put up a mini-mansion like most of the places* I am seeing on this thread. The people in Nichols will fight like hell to keep the charm. I believe Newtown is like that too.

I am sorry but IMO tearing down historic old houses to make way for mini-mansions and large ostentatious homes is not charming.

*Southport
*Rowayton
*New Canaan
*Old Greenwich
* etc. etc.

Agree w/ what was mentioned already.

Lake Candlewood area (Brookfield/Sherman/NF) is nice too.

Shippan, and central Greenwich (north of Greenwich Ave, before mid-country) as well.

Definitely Southport Village is the most charming part of Fairfield County. Stunning historic homes on picturesque streets overlooking a quant harbor. NCIS and Dr. Bull star, Michael Weartherly’s father owns one of the homes overlooking the harbor. His father owns the company that imports Swiss Army Knives. Fairfield Town Green and Greenfield Hill are also very charming. Jay
