What's that 31 outlier? Is that the new "weather station" down by Wall Street you told me about (I think it begins its 3 letter code with a J) that has even more ridiculous nighttime lows than LGA?

No melting today with temps staying in the 20s and no sun.

This sounds ominous from NWS. Will there be widespread power outages for Christmas (Euro and GFS winds looks scary, actually)?
"Then all attention turns to full latitude trough for Christmas
Eve & Day. Good ensemble agreement that mid level low and surface
circulation track thru the Great Lakes, with strong attending cold
front sweeping across the region Christmas Day. Subtropical moisture
streaming up the East Coast combined with strong wind anomalies
support a period of heavy rain. Both Euro and GFS ensembles have a
number of very wet members, offering 2+ inches of rainfall here.
Seems plausible given the amplitude of the pattern and subtropical
moisture. Also dense fog could be an issue with dew pts near or over
50 streaming across a deep snowpack especially in the interior. Also
with trough taking on a negative tilt, can rule out a fine line of
low top convection along and ahead of approaching strong cold front
Christmas Eve or Day. Sounds about right for 2020."

HMM could that be like Christmas Day 2002 that started out as heavy rain then at night turned quickly and massively to ice and snow? (Albeit in most of CT the changeover occurred at or after midnight on the 26th?)

Yup. Storm tracking west of us. That means warm rain and strong winds. Its what's behind it that is interesting me. Arctic Air

BTW... if that storm shifts east like 300 miles... we got ourselves a Christmas blizzard.
