Quick question, my alimony ends next month, do I have to contact the state to stop it from coming out of my check or will stop automatically?

I woul certainly take the offense and contact the state. I would not assume any bureaucratic system is intelligent enough to turn itself off.

Not sure who you work for, but I would also contact your payroll department, and also have the proper documentation to show them. They maybe able to work it on that end for you.

If it were me, I’d email, send a certified letter and then call. I’d want documentation in case they take money after the order ends.

Did the order have an end date when it started? If so, payroll should have input both dates, and it should automatically stop.

Check with payroll first.

He posted in the NJ section too. Not sure which state he's in. I told him he should have contacted the state a few months ago with his documentation because I doubt it will end on his own. My sons child support didnt. He's probably screwed till state agencies reopen

Here's my reply from the Jersey section. I also messaged him, I'll post that below it

I'll be shocked if yours will just stop without you making contact. You should have done that about 3 months ago. Now you're probably screwed with everything closed down because of the virus.
